About COPD Foundation
Founded in 2004, the COPD Foundation (COPDF) seeks to speed innovations to make treating COPD more effective and affordable, expand services for more than 24 million patients in the US with COPD, and spur research and education that lead to prevention of COPD and find a cure. It’s mission is to “prevent and cure Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and to improve the lives of all people affected by COPD.”
About Our Partnership
In June 2013, COPDF partnered with Edison Nation Medical to find and develop innovations that improve the lives of those impacted by Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The search focused on finding various new ideas, from improvements to current respiratory therapy products on the market to new solutions that would make it easier for patients to take advantage of treatments.
“Many of the best ideas for innovations can be found with those dealing with COPD on a daily basis – the patients and providers,” said John W. Walsh, President and Co-Founder, COPDF. “Edison Nation Medical will make it possible for us to uncover the ideas that will help those who have been diagnosed and are living with COPD — and perhaps even a few ideas that will increase early diagnosis for those who may not realize they are living with the disease.”
