SUBMISSIONS ACCEPTED THROUGH: Closed September 30, 2015

Transplant Café (www.TransplantCafe.com) and Edison Nation Medical are co-sponsoring an Innovation Search for transplant recipients, caregivers, donors and those awaiting transplants to share their ideas for new products that can help transplant patients and enhance the standard of patient care.

BACKGROUND

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, an average of 79 people receive an organ transplant in the US every day.  Transplants are received by people of all ages, to treat a wide variety of medical conditions.  Organs that can be transplanted include: eye tissue, skin, lungs, heart & heart valves, kidneys, pancreas, bowel, bone, tendons, veins and ligaments.  Transplant patients face daunting challenges before and after transplant surgery.

Transplant recipients, donor families, living donors, caregivers, transplant organizations and those who work in the field of transplantation are encouraged to submit invention ideas involving new medical products, devices, and technologies that can improve quality of life or quality of care for transplant patients and donors.
